Clinical Expertise: Sports Injuries, Spinal Problems, Pilates and Exercise Rehabilitation
Having qualified as a physiotherapist in 2004, Andrew has worked in a wide range of clinical settings gaining extensive experience working with many experienced physiotherapists along the way. His journey began within the NHS back in 2005 where he developed key skills working with people presenting with many types of physical pain and injuries. He developed a strong interest towards sports related injuries, enabling him to combine his clinical knowledge with invaluable skills gained in his previous background working as a personal/trainer/instructor. He soon gained experience working with professional footballers at Sunderland football club, both at academy and first team level. Soon after he was offered the chance to work with the British forces in Germany where he spent a number of years treating many types of sports related injuries, and assisted with the British forces overseas rugby team. It was during this time he helped to develop a back care rehabilitation program into the military setting, which included teaching Pilates to military personnel and family members.
Andrew’s passion is to ultimately help people return to their normal way of life with physical improvements and to assist with a return to work/sports related activities. His key skills that help people achieve their physical goals, are to provide treatments such as sports massage, manual therapy, and a detailed exercise and rehabilitation program. He also has a background in teaching Pilates both 1-1 and within a group and uses Pilates within his daily practice to help clients improve their physical condition.
